Modernization (Capital Fund Program)
Since 1998 the Housing Authority of Franklin County has completed and has received $7,138,413 in Capital Fund grant money to upgrade and modernize its public housing units in the Boroughs of Waynesboro and Chambersburg. These funds were used as follows:
Meadow Creek I - Chambersburg (Elderly units)
Exterior lighting, gas ranges, refrigerators, conversion of 10 efficiencies to 1-bedrooms, water heater replacement, sidewalk repairs, floor tile replacement (ongoing), roof replacement, storm door replacement, kitchen cabinets, faucets, range hoods, electric up-grades, maintenance vehicle, maintenace equipment
Meadow Creek II - Chambersburg (Family units)
Refrigerator replacement, exterior lighting, sidewalk repair, floor tile replacement (ongoing), mulching (seasonal), storm door replacement, roof replacement, bathroom renovations, closet doors (PA-1), water heater replacement, window replacement (PA-1), electric upgrade, furnace replacement (PA-1), door lock replacement, kitchen cabinets, faucets, range hoods, washer/dryer hook-ups (PA-3), maintenance vehicle, maintenance equipment

Village Green - Elder Avenue Waynesboro
Conversions of 10 efficiency units to 1-bedrooms, roof replacement, gas ranges, laundry room facility, office renovation, water heater replacement, refrigerators, maintenance vehicle, maintenance equipment
