SECTION 8 WAITING LIST TO CLOSE - Effective Thursday, November 10, 2022 the Section 8 waitlist will close at 4:30 PM. We will not accept any further applications after that time or date.

Section 8 Waiting List to Open

Friday, September 16, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.

On Friday, September 16, 2022 at 9:00 a.m., Franklin County Housing Authority will open the Section 8 waiting list. Franklin County Housing Authority will only be accepting 250 completed applications for processing.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, applications may be completed online and dropped off at one of the office locations listed below. If you do not have the technology to complete the application online, you may pick up a paper application at either office location and complete it at home or in your car. FCHA staff will only be able to assist on a small scale. You will be required to wear a face covering while inside the FCHA building. We will not permit large groups or individuals to congregate outside the office building before it opens at 9:00 a.m. on Friday September 16, 2022 for health and safety reasons. Please stay in your car and wait for the Section 8 Department to start the waitlist opening. FCHA reserves the right to ask you to leave the property for non-compliance.

Our office locations are 436 West Washington Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201 and 202 Elder Avenue, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Applications or supporting documents for online applications can be faxed to 717-263-1329.The offices are open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The application requires that the applicant provide copies of birth certificates and social security cards for ALL family members. A photo ID is required for ALL family members 18 and over. Failure to provide ANY of the items listed above will result in your application being considered incomplete and it will not be processed.

All completed applications can be turned in at any office location in the designated Section 8 Application drop box. If you are submitting an online application, you must turn in your required documents, including the signed confirmation page, immediately after applying. Applying online and getting a confirmation page does not secure your application spot on the waitlist.

The Housing Authority will only be accepting 250 completed applications. If you fail to provide any of the required documentation, your application will be ineligible for processing.
